Arbitration & Mediation

While litigation is a primary way of resolving disputes, it is not the only way.

“Alternative Dispute Resolution” or “ADR” is regularly used by many courts and private parties to expedite the resolution of disputes in lieu of time and money-consuming litigation. Mediation and arbitration can provide a less adversarial and more productive atmosphere for the creative and expedited resolution of disputes. ADR can save time and money, is less formal than litigation, can be scheduled according to the schedules of the parties rather than dictated by the Court, is mutual in that the parties jointly choose the neutral party who will assist them in resolving the dispute (rather than leaving resolution to a random judge or jury), and can ensure better confidentiality.

James, House, Swann & Downing, P.A. has many years of experience with ADR. Please contact us if we can be of assistance.
