Who We Are
James, House, Swann & Downing, P.A. is a Little Rock law firm that handles cases throughout Arkansas and across the United States of America. The firm’s practice areas are primarily litigation-based. The Firm’s attorneys are licensed to practice law in all courts within the State of Arkansas, as well as many other courts across the country. Our attorneys have past experience working in large law firms, small law firms, and serving as in-house counsel at corporations. They have taught at numerous legal seminars, authored multiple law review articles and other publications, and are actively involved in the community and bar associations.

Our Approach
Litigation can often be a demanding, emotional, and expensive experience for any client. For this reason, we often consider it essential to first explore all available avenues that may lead to an amicable resolution prior to litigation, so long as both the client and our belief that settlement is in the client's best interest. This step is critical because once we commence litigation, we never want the client or our Firm to question why we did not investigate every possibility to resolve the issue without litigation. This is especially true for Plaintiffs or other parties seeking damages or other relief.
If you are coming to us as a present or potential Defendant in a litigation case, we will utilize the same approach to ensure that avenues for resolving the case amicably prior to litigation are explored. When we commence litigation, it is because that is what we and our client believe is the only reasonable option available. At that point, we will zealously litigate the case on our client’s behalf to achieve the best results possible.
